When it comes to why you don’t exercise more, everyone has a list of excuses they tend to run through. The most common excuses include not having enough time, being too old or too out of shape, thinking it’s too boring, and not liking to exercising alone. In most cases, these excuses don’t really hold up to much scrutiny. We’ve found that, more often than not, a few minor changes to your routine can fix the vast majority of the reasons why you don’t exercise more often.

1. Not Enough Time or Too Busy – For some individuals it may be true that finding time to exercise is difficult. These individuals can at least get a bit more exercise by doing things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking to the store instead of driving. However, the reality is that most individuals do have the time to exercise on a regular basis if they really want to. For example, simply by cutting back on the amount of TV you watch by an hour a day and using that time to work out, you could give yourself plenty of time. If you don’t have the time, make it.

2. Too Old or Out of Shape – The reality is that it’s all about finding the right exercise for you. If you are out of shape or you’re an older person, you may not want to start out doing 50 pushups. In some cases, you may not want to do pushups at all. There are literally hundreds of different exercises out there. Just about any age group or fitness level can find something. PumpFit, for example, offers exercises that are designed to be inclusive for everyone.

3. Too Boring – Again, it’s all about finding the right exercise. If you find an exercise boring, try a different one or try exercising with a buddy. Having company can make a huge difference and be an excellent motivator.

4. Don’t Like Exercising Alone – This one is super easy to solve. Find a buddy who wants to exercise and start working out together. If you can’t, you may want to try one of PumpFit’s group training classes in which you can have a fun time working out with many other people.

If you are really serious about living a healthier lifestyle, stop making excuses and start getting more exercise. If you are interested in one of our training classes, contact us today to book a spot.
